Love it! Simple clean classy.

This is an update on the review I had left for this Pegai leather checkbook cover, which I had ordered in the color "Rose". In the earlier review, I stated that the scratches and black marks on the finish of this product looked bad. I have since realized that the finish was intended to look "distressed" (and it certainly DID distress ME!). I'm now getting used to it, and have decided to put my checkbook inside of it. I appreciate the short strap with the snap to help keep the checks and papers inside the cover. I also appreciate the embossing of my initials on the cover and the solid feel of the leather.

This order arrived very quickly, which I really appreciated. I also live in Dallas where Pegai has office facilities. I really wanted to give this product a 5-star review, but I can't because I was sent an item which had several very noticeable scratches in more than one location on the surface of the checkbook cover. It looks like the leather came in contact with some type of sharp tool which left unintended scratches all over the cover. The other thing which ruined the cover for me were the very visible black marks across the cover, including on the short strap which has a snap on it. I had ordered the checkbook cover in a "Rose" color, so seeing all these black marks in addition to the scratches just doesn't look right. There was some type of cloth enclosed with the checkbook cover. I used that on the strap to see if I could remove the black marks, but some of the red Rose coloring came off on the cloth instead. I had requested that this item be embossed with my initials, so I won't be returning it, but I won't be using it as a checkbook cover either. It will be saved for something less used, maybe to hold store receipts.

My mother loved it. The monogram was a wonderful touch.
